Lake Texoma

One of the largest man-made lakes in the United States is just ten minutes from Durant, Oklahoma.  Lake Texoma and the Denison Dam project started in 1939 and was completed in 1944.  Lake Texoma has a surface area of 89,000 acres.  The two main sources of water include the Red River and the Washita River.  The deepest part of the lake is some 640 feet.
